TOPIC: Photoshop vs. GIMP

Re: Photoshop vs. GIMP 15 years 3 months ago #19630

I have GIMP already, but am willing to pay for Photoshop if it is easier to use.  :D

What type photo manipulation are you trying to achieve as there are other programs such as Photoscape,Infraview,Photo Filtre,Paint.net and Snagit that are much easier to deal with when not needing to work with layers.

Large programs take longer to load when you are in a rush.

I found out how to erase layers in Gimp, but that really isn't a true transparency. That really ruins the background for future use, or if I wanted to play around more with the image. I guess you could say I accomplished my goal of transparent backgrounds, but it limits the use of the image.  :-\

Drew, Save your images under different names and you will not ruin the image. Save the original image, then when you remove layers, save at any time. You can have several copies of the same image at different levels.
