When moving from page to page and using drop down lists, a prompt pops if a drop down list has been 'highlighted' but the specific item not chosen. I'd like to see this prompt pop when SAVING the inspection report to ensure I didn't miss any selected drop down lists. I often move from page to page not having specific items chosen (I didn't get to that specific item) and don't want to forget them in the end.

I'd have to agree. I would rather have the program remind me once near the end of the process instead of each time I jump to a different tab. I know it is probably a better practice to complete a comment right after sending it to the black/red panel, but I still find myself jumping around enough times that the reminders are just extra clicks(which distract) and less of a help.  I catch them during my proof reading anyway if I do miss one.

I'm missing something here. If you've moved a comment to black/red or selected it in a selection panel, why wouldn't you take care of it right away?

That's exactly what I was admitting. :-[  I realize that is probably the most efficient way to fill out the report, and for the most part that is how I do it. But for one of any hundred different reasons and distractions, I find my self still leaving the tab to go look at a related issue, check what I wrote in another section, take a closer look at the photo/s, confirm what room I saw the issue in, etc, etc.  Inevitably, I click out of the tab(or I HAVE to click out) and then I have the reminders to address before I can go on.  I think I've done 30-40 full inspections now with HIP in the last few weeks and it happens 7-8 times during each report.

I know we're only talking about a couple clicks here and there, but I'm finding they really add up.  I would like Bob's idea, but I think I like the idea of the reminder at the "report generation stage" instead of the "saving stage"(I save all the time to prevent data loss). The "report generation stage" is when I am moving into review and proof read mode anyway, that's when I am looking for those overlooked details.  That's kind of the thinking behind it...

Ok, that makes sense. I just have to make sure I understand the 'why' as that often affects the implementation. I agree that report generation would be a much better time. I think I'll make it an option when generating. Making this work will require scanning ALL comments so it'll probably take a good 30 seconds to do.
