TOPIC: Voice recongnition

I would like to set up my HIPro you work with voice recongnition. I know there re programs out there from Microsoft and Dragon Naturally Speaking, and probably a few more. I know of inspectors that use it and praise it.

I would like to try it with HIPro, is it possible? How do I tie it in?

HIP works great with any of those programs. I've seen Dragon used you just need to have plenty of ram. Your buddy Bob Elliott used it for awhile but he had issues as he only had 512 megs of ram. Quite a few other guys use it.

You don't do anything special, click on add comment and then talk.

Do you have any experience with ant of the programs? Is one better than another. Is one easier to use, or more accurate?

Unfortunately, I am a 4 finger typer. Even though I am pretty quick at it, it is still laborious (is that a word?). I think the voice rec would make things so much easier.

I get the feeling that there are problems with the program mis-interpurting words. Is that true?

I think I have 3 gigawatts of RAM, is that enough?

1.3 jigawatts and a flux capacitor will get your Delorian into another dimension and away from the Libyans. As far as random access memory is concerned, I don't know.  ;D

Steve, 3 Gigabytes of ram are plenty.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is the most common program and very good at learning any accent you may have because you live on Staten Island It will get a few wrong along the way and you train it and then it'll get more correct the more you use it. You usually start out by reading to it for awhile so it can pick up your speech patterns and become more accurate.
