The Ride Along ep. 76: How growing inspection companies can use solar education to win more business

Many agents don’t know what to do when a solar system shows up in a deal. That gap is an opportunity for the inspection company willing to fill it.

In The Ride Along episode 76, Brad Lowery and Matt Brading talk with Cory Vanderpool of Sprk about why solar has become such a common transaction headache, and how a growing inspection company can turn that confusion into a growth opportunity.

During the discission, Cory says it plainly: 98.9% of agents do not know what to do with solar when it shows up in a transaction, and it’s a real challenge for them at transfer. To be effective, home inspectors should frame their findings as “Here’s what to watch out for before it becomes a problem” as opposed to  “here’s what I found wrong”.

That kind of positioning matters more the bigger you get. A growing company living off word-of-mouth referrals needs a steady way to get in front of new homebuyers, and the inspector who can actually explain solar in an easy-to-understand way is a differentiator many competitors don’t have yet.
