What do clients really need from a new home inspector?
Sure, they need someone who knows the house. But they also need someone they can trust, understand, and feel confident hiring before the report ever lands in their inbox.
In The Ride Along episode 74, Brad Lowery and Matt Brading talk with Abby Bullock of Merit Property Inspections about what it’s really like to start building that trust from the ground up. Abby started in Central Texas, moved to the Tampa Bay area, and now has roughly 1,500 inspections under her belt.
This conversation gets into the parts of the job that don’t always show up in training: learning in the field, showing clients how you work, saying yes without letting report quality slide, and figuring out how to make people feel like they know you before they ever meet you.
It’s a good one for newer inspectors, inspectors stepping out on their own, and anyone who remembers the “please let the phone ring, but also maybe don’t” phase.
Better yet, consider signing up for an upcoming session of the ISN First-year Masterclass – the program kicks off on July 8! Brad and Inspector Empire Builder Mark Hummel CEO Mark Hummel will cover:
- Why purpose is the foundation every business decision gets built on
- How to define who you are, what you’re doing, and who you’re doing it for
- A framework for turning that clarity into real forward momentum
