TOPIC: Text Format Issue

Re: Text Format Issue 15 years 8 months ago #10916

For the extra lines make sure you hit the space bar once in the new line. The editor is going overboard when trying to clean up the code (in other words you shouldn't have to do this). Hoping to have this resolved soon.

If the othr paragraphs have code in front of them already it usually means formatting has been applied. Which page are you working on, I'd like to take a look at it.

Any of the sub menu pages under Inspection Services....I think I got all the text size issues resolved (took me forever), but can't get the colors of the Headers changed on any of those pages. (notice some pages have black headlines, some have blue, but they appear orange in the editor) On the Sellers page, I still can't get a space between the 1st and 2nd paragraphs.

When you look at them, take a look at my SEO stuff as well and let me know how I am doing, still not sure if I am doing that stuff right. I still need to tweak the content, so don't be too judgmental on that :)

Oh the reason it's showing as orange in the editor is that you've visited the page , so it's showing as a visited link.

I think you're sites looking great! I wouldn't include the whose online section though as you'll at most have 2-3 people on at any time.

The headlines are showing as black or blue because you've visited the site or not.  Just like other sites the color changes on visited links.

I'll look at the SEO some more in a bit.

I think we are talking about different headlines???? I'm referring to the headlines in the body of the text, not the page title??? I realize the page title changes colors, but it's the headlines in the body that are giving me fits (you will see I start off my paragraphs with a headline and sub headline (fonts = headline1 & headline2) then switch Verdana. Those should stay at which ever color I select, visited or not, right?

As far as the "who's online", I just had that there to reserve the space for the online chat feature I plan on implementing. Won't I need that feature for chat so visitors can see if anyone is available, or no?

BTW, I have been very pleased with what I have been able to do with your web hosting service, the features and SEO junk is money, and you are great at responding to questions and helping out. It's just this !@#$% formatting stuff in the editor can be harder to figure out than my wife sometimes! ;)

Haha, don't worry the new editor will make things easier. I'm running it with a few tests sites first. Then I have to work on safely converting everyone over.

***Ok, I just looked at your site and I totally see the problem now. Don't use the header drop down, especially not header 1. Leave it set to Normal (Div). Now that I think about it, I should probably remove that. header1-5 are set in the theme and header 1 is actually the title on the page above the editor. The color can't be changed so the header part is overwriting the color choice after you save (the editor can't see what the header code is set to). If you just change the font size without changing the header then you'll be set. Let me know if this makes things easier. This might have been Mike's problem too and I just missed it.

You don't need the whose online for the chat program. Just look over the Plugoo tutorial in the tutorial section of the board, it's listed there.

I figured it would somehow be my fault...he he

Well, your explanation makes sense, i will remove the the header settings....what is the dif between Normal and Normal (DIV)? Should all text be left to Normal (DIV)? Maybe that is my problem with the other issues as well?

I just changed my New Construction Inspections page....copied text from elsewhere, pasted it into notepad, and then into the editor, and now have varying font sizes... I went back and did the usual stuff, but this time I added a Space to each blank line, which I saw you recommend somewhere, I wasn't doing that before. After doing that, made my changes and it seemed to stick this time. That may have been the source of all my troubles (that and using the Header 1 drop down). I'll keep you posted.
