Looks like you got it resolved from the email I sent you. Did you have any other problems?

Looks like you got your feet wet Arthur ,so keep going and do not be lazy on that great template like I have been.
You do need to fix the ghosted text above the header however and I suggest you move it down into the text field (body).

Okay, here's a stupid question for Dom, Bob, whoever...

When someone asks you to "Look at their site", what exactly are you looking at, and how? If you would, look at my site, and tell me what you see, and how you see it, so I can "see" for myself. www.owatonnahomeinspector.com
Thanks.

Gimme a break Jeff.
You run the website contest at NACHI.:)

If I answer your question there are actually two ways to look at a site.
SEO view and marketing view .

I look harder at marketing side not only because I am not a computer guy but also because I figure SEO is basically a set formula in a sense, while attractiveness is much more inventive and artistic.

I actually follow Dom's tips when it suits me as they are well tested.
Are you having the correct keywords, mega tags, site title, contact info, original content, video, links, menu info, separate pages sliced as thin as a razor into multiple related categories, with pictures to draw interest, and commands to action, etc.

Is your site geared towards introducing your self or is it geared to be a dictionary ?
Are you looking to sell or to educate?
Can you do both or should you stick to one?

Do you blog and add fresh content or do you depend on RSS feeds.

What makes you better?

Are you using lots of flash or is a Black and White site with mostly text your draw?

What above describes you and do you agree that the above is needed ?

Last and at bottom is the footer.
What goes there Jeff?

OK ,I am busy on a report but I look at your site and see a nice format but you have no title/subtitle format in your text body making it ruin the look with t5he appearance of it seeming to be a personal blog.

You need to add some bold face and some Blue links in that text body to draw me in before I get bored.

What Bob said!

Biggest areas to fix:

1) No picture of you! From what I remember, you aren't that ugly! Though the picture of Rodney might convince some otherwise. This is important to connect clients with you.

2) Too many words in your keyword and description meta tags, cut those down.

3) No news feeds anywhere. Add local feeds on home page.

4) No city specific pages. Check out owlhomeinspections.com and click on the city names to see what I mean. HomeInspectionMan.com is another site with some good examples of this.

5) No blogs :(  Add lots, include city names & the words home inspection.

6) No photos in your photo gallery. Add lots, include city names & the words home inspection.

I can go on and on but suffice it to say that your site is severely lacking and you'd be lucky to get a large number of inspections from it until you fix it!
