Re: Mobile Phone web site 13 years 1 month ago #39732

Alright, anyone want to test this thing for me?  I had someone off of FB tell me that they scanned it and nothing came up...

It worked for me. Could be an older browser, or it could be that fb shrinks the image.

It did just give a link though. I like it better when the qr scanner shows more information without clicking a link.

I see guys adding this to their FB and signatures. Does it work scanning it off the computer screen?

Yes, it does.  Dom and a friend of mine were both able to scan mine right off their screens.

Hello all, I am following this thread as I heard something about mobile sites from my brother. It seems to have developed into qr code info and that's interesting too. I did go to qrstuf site and what I read seems to indicate the code is used on print media to give them direct information ie a message, or to automatically take the customer to a website via phone scan.  Is this correct? If so other than the "cool factor", you would not put it on your web site would you.

OK, I made my code if someone can test it. I am not sure about what size to use for what application. I do have a question about the vcard. There is the note on the site-VCARD information embedded in a QR Code will often result in a QR Code too dense for many mobile phones to read. To work around this, we recommend you choose the “link to download” option. This will embed a website link in the QR Code, and when someone scans the code, they will be taken to a web page that will prompt the user to download the VCARD VCF file (or, in the case of an iPhone user, to receive the VCF file by email.) What does that mean? I am wondering if people will just not use it if they have to do extra work.

The option to have text for the code would not let them go to your site correct?
