TOPIC: Document formatting out of whack

Re: Document formatting out of whack 15 years 2 months ago #7194

Ok. Thanks for getting back to me with that!

I'll make sure the next update forces a max width for that font window. I worked this into the drop down boxes in the photo editor so I can use the same code in the font box.

This document editing is just not working for me now regardless of what I do.  Here is what I see.

1.  My original documents were formatted in a previous version and except for the auto-indent they looked fine.
2.  Once I upgraded to v2.6.6.2, the formatting has a double spaced line for each carriage return and the indent is there.
3.  If I copy and past the document to TextEdit, I see that all formatting is brought over, including the double line space, but not the indent.
4.  In TextEdit, I can REMOVE the double line space but then when I copy and paste it back into HIP the formatting of fonts is removed and the double spaces are put back in along with the indent.
5.  If I copy the HIP document you just the clipboard, delete the HIP document, create a NEW one and then copy the text back, it will retain the font formatting of the original but will still include the double spacing and indent.
6.  I copied all documents over to TextEdit documents, correct the formatting and save.
7.  I REMOVED all of the documents from HIP, shut down and restarted HIP.
8.  I created a NEW document in HIP and just typed in some random things but made sure to have multiple lines with a single CR.
9.  The New document did not show up the first time I saved the inspection and generated a report.  I had to go back to the document editor, verify I had it include before the summary, saved and generated again.
10. The document showed up in the report WITH the indent and WITH the double line spacing.

So at this point I am thinking about removing HIP (saving the inspections and reports), reloading and then go through HIP again setting it up the way I have it now.  A lot of work, I know, but rewriting the documents is a lot of work and apparently it won't work with the HIP copy I have installed now anyways.  Let me know if you have a better idea, if not I will be doing this work tonight.  Good thing I don't have any inspections scheduled today!

Don't do anything right now. I want to see what it looks like on your Mac. I'm helping out another inspector right now.
