TOPIC: Looking for a very detailed inspection template

I have been inspecting for about 4 years with about 600 inspections under my belt. I just joined HIP and have used various HIP templates. Each of them have not had the detail I like to see in a report.  In the past I used AHIT reporting software for a long time, then switched to HiSpect which I like alot, but has poor flexibility. This is what brought me here.  I have been averaging about 8 hrs per inspection with HIP (with 3 inspections so far). I was averaging about 4 1/2 hours with Hispect. I know increased speed will come with time. I think I may ultimately need to design my own template, but I did not want to reinvent the wheel If there is something close.  I am also struggling with the quickest way to perform the inspection.  I have used windows pad, then Ipad, then laptop, and now android phone, but I have not felt happy yet. When I switched to a laptop I felt I was going backwards, but for some reason I now like using it a bit more.  One more note, I am in Minnesota and I struggle in winter months when I am outside in -40F weather and trying to enter info in my mobile device. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you've done 600 inspections then your probably have a lot of your own custom comments. If that is the case I would open a blank word doc and start going back through all your your inspection reports and copying the most used comments from your existing reports on to the word doc. Once you have then all in once place open HIP and paste them into HIP.

I've used the Ipad too and did not at all care for the HIP mobile, so I bought a Mac book air 11" and that has been working great for me. good luck

Exactly! I know this is why I switched to HIP to begin with.  I'm hoping to get my avg down to 2-2 1/2 hours.

Thats what I did and copied and pasted all my comment into HIP.
Design it as you do the inspection ..Like flow as you go.
