In my selection panels I utilize lists. For example I have a number of lines in a selection panel such as "Bathrooms" and "Bedrooms" to outline reference numbers and the orientation to the floor plan. A sample selection is; <<Number>> Bedroom - <<Level>> - <<Compass Directions>>. In each list I have a blank "comment" entered at the top.
Once I double click on a line and select the appropriate information if I save the template, due to other revisions made while creating the report, those selected numbers, levels, and compass directions are saved as well. Is it possible to have those lists reset to the blank comment that is the top of all of my lists? Even if I try to select the blank line just to reset the selections it doesn't accept that and goes back to whatever was selected. ...hard to explain.... Any way around this?? It's not a huge deal, but I like a clean slate as I start a new report. BJ |

This is why I don't like, and have removed almost all Selection panels from my template. I only use Defect panels. Move the item to either black or red and then save. If it is moved to Black / Red, it does not change the template.
While some disagree, I always have two copies of HIP running when on my PC. One is for the report, the other is for permanent changes or additions to my template. I never save the template in the copy running the report. |

There is nothing sweeter than the smell of fresh cut grass on a baseball infield, the click of a wooden bat and the taste of a hot dog at a warm sunny daytime double-header.

Stephen:
That's funny, just the other day I copy and pasted my HIP install directory to do the same thing, keep a separate running copy open for revisions etc. I think that this could be corrected or changed in a future update, it'll just depend on where it falls in Dominic's schedule. It's not a great big huge deal, it's not like the items automatically show up in the report just because an item is selected from the list, you still have to select the line and you'd still have to go in and select some kind of information, but it's more of a housekeeping thing for me and a little bit of OCD. HAH. I've been working off templates created by others and griping about it, so I just recently decided to dive in to this whole template thing and since I've got about 30 hours in to it this past couple of weeks and am pretty proud of it thus far I was pissed when the selection panels were all pretty and reset when I thought they should be. Now, I just need to quit living in the stone ages with my iPad 1; it won't handle the lists, I can't add comments with it, and no camera. Ran in to a buddy of mine last night that has an extra iPad 3, I'll have that soon. Saweeeet.... BJ |

Definitely update the iPad!!
As far as the selection panel lists, you should definitely be able to select a blank comment, if you added a blank comment. Can you check what version you have under the About->About menu? |

Version 3.9
I can select a blank comment, but when I hit done it doesn't save it. Right now it shows: <<Number::#1>> Bedroom - <<Level::Second Level>> - <<Compass Directions::Northwest>> - Master Bedroom I double click on the line and went through and selected the 'blank' lines that just contain a space then hit done. It goes right back to <<Number::#1>> Bedroom - <<Level::Second Level>> - <<Compass Directions::Northwest>> - Master Bedroom rather than: <<Number>> Bedroom - <<Level>> - <<Compass Directions>> - Master Bedroom |
