I'm a newbe using HIP so have patience....
Is there a easy way of moving items from one template to another. I am trying to make up my perfect template and I want to take whole sections from one template I have found and move them to the template I am working on. Another issue I am having is changing the type of page from one having say one "damage panel" to a page that has a damage panel and a selection panel. As an example, a section of the template I am using has a damage panel only for "Exterior Doors" but I want to add a selection panel so I can indicate what the door is made of or if it is a sliding patio door. Don't know if I am explaining what I am looking for clearly, but if anyone can understand what I am trying to do and they have a solution, I would love to hear it. Thanks Dan |

Hi Dan,
You can change state to province by going to Edit->Company Information and change your country to Canada. You can only copy narratives between two templates. Open up two copies of HIP side by side with a different template in each, then use copy/paste buttons. You can highlight and copy as many comments as you want as well. You'll need to create a new 1 damage panel/1 selection panel tab, then copy & paste the narratives (avoid using cut). Then delete the old tab. |

Thanks Dominic it never even occured to me that I could have two HIP's up at the same time. I was afraid I would have to close open one, copy, the close it, open the other template, then paste. I much longer process than just typing in everything again.
Thanks for your fast reply. Dan |

No problem. It's one of the cool features of HIP that other programs can't do!

Dominic, I'd like to be able to move stuff from one template to another, but can I run 2 copies of HIP side by side on my Mac? I tried going into Terminal and using this command...
open -n /Applications/Home Inspector Pro 3.app ...but my Mac didn't like the spaces and said that file "does not exist." If I simply rename HIP without spaces, will it blow something up in your program? |
