This one has been making me crazy! :o
I'm working on some of my templates.  Changing the wording, clearing out all the inappropriate comments etc. (there are a lot that do not belong where they are in the "stock" templates provided)

I cannot get the cut/past/copy function to work.  It will not work from normal keyboard shortcuts, no right click functionality and the menu icons rarely do anything useful. In fact, using them will lock up the program so that I cannot edit anything.  Need to shut the program down and re open.

This is a big deal.  Customizing the templates is a critical function.  Having to retype every comment every time due to no ability to use the clipboard is a major PITA.

Example:  Under the "grounds" area in the default single family template there is a listing for "fences and walls" as well as one for "gates".  The fence section has gate comments and the gate sections has fence/wall comments.  With no cut and paste, I must delete the inappropriate comment and retype it completely in the proper place.  This is a huge waste of time. >:(

Hi Dana,

There's several ways you can do this.

First you can highlight one or more comments, click COPY on the toolbar, go to the new section, click IN the list area (program has to know what the target area is) and click the PASTE button.

You could also (albeit slower) double click a comment to edit it, highlight text, CTRL-C to copy, go to the area you want the new comment, add, CTRL-V to paste (normal windows shortcuts).

Because so many inspectors use tablets we actually converted right click into the Spell Check function.

The CUT button is a bit quirky and does need to be reworked. Use Copy/Paste for now and just delete the comment when done.

Hi Dom,
None of this is working for me.  Just tried it again. Not sure what to do about this.  I do use a separate clipboard manager called ClipMate.  It is set to capture from HIP and anything that hits the windows clipboard. It's not doing it. If I highlight a  comment in the template selection panel and hit "copy", I hear teh audible that a capture has been made but when I open clipmate it says there is nothing captured.  I checked the settings and it is set to capture from HIP. It just won't do it.
The paste function does not work.  Clicking in the pane and hitting paste does nothing because nothing was captured from the clipboard.

Turn clipmate off and try out copy and paste and see if it works first. I don't know how 3rd party programs will interact.

Thinking about it a bit more... What is copied is not straight text, so I'm sure clipmate can't handle it. It's a list item object that contains a string of text within it. If you did a CTRL-C & V within editing/adding a comment I'm sure ClipMate will work fine. But it definitely won't be able to know what to do when copying/pasting list items.

I thought that might be the problem. It works better if ClipMate is off. But then I do not have the multiple clip capabilities that it offers.  It starts automatically with Windows. Been using it for years.
Oh well.
