Hey where are all the CTL GO users in this poll?
Only one uses a tablet so far. Maybe I should have asked how many tried it and did not like it? |

I am a little disappointed at the response to Bob post and thread.
I have been using my Q1 and my CTL2 is justb sitting around. I would buy another Q or something else instead of the CTL2. |

Dave ,could you explain your reasons?
I have one just sitting around also and just use it for a portable PDF viewer at this point however I do not like carrying around a tablet with the distraction ,and you must have other reasons. |

Lets just say it did not work out!!
Very poor when being used as a notebook. Works good for playing solitaire. |

Currently I'm using a laptop with 17" screen. I take photos and upload them on site(just in case I loose a photo I am there to replace it), then I produce the first section of the report (Grounds) and review it with the clients to give them an idea of how to read the report, the conventions used, etc. etc. I finish the report at the home office later after the kids go to bed and the distractions are limited. I originally wanted to do reports on site, but I've almost reversed my feelings on that completely. I just don't see my report quality staying where I currently have it if I try to do reporting all on site. I'm even considering just loading photos on site and showing the clients a sample to cut off even more time.
I can't imagine using a phone or anything else that small. I've asked about it here on the forum and some of the guys who carry the reporting equipment with them have explained how they do it. Honestly, it just sounds like a home inspector juggling act: camera, computer, outlet tester & other tools, flashlight all the while operating lights, doors, windows and equipment. All the setting down, picking up, switching hands, etc. would drive me nuts. That and I really like my big screen and full-sized keyboard with my comfortable office chair. Those guys carrying their reporting equipment with them are a gifted breed and must be extremely dexterous. |

Cameron even loading pictures and printing out a section then going around the grounds twice sounds like a overly full plate to me so I know what you mean but have you ever lost pictures from your camera before?
Stay safe and just use a USB cord rather than pulling out the SD card and you will be fine. Check on the cameras LCD display at the end to feel better about it if needed. If one is there they all are. |
