I also started a new thread on the general board for people to share any cool documents they have. I'm working on one now for a lot really cool links. Like, Safe Rooms, Secrtet Passages, Security, etc.

Dear Gordy,
I am overwhelmed by the kindness shown to me by yourself and many other good people here. Dominic has been awesome. The support I've seen here has been the main reason I have gone with HIP. You are correct that there is a learning curve, but that is true with ANY good software. Between the help that Dominic offers and the ability to be able to use a Mac for reports, HIP was my #1 choice.

I own a home here in NY and one in the Lake county area of Florida. I plan on selling my NY home this summer and moving full time to my Florida home. I have my H.I. license and LLC for Florida already, and am a member of both ASHI and Internachi.

Lately I've been concentrating on preparing my NY home to go on the market and getting rid of most everything I have up here. When we make the move will be largely dependent on when our home sells.

Soon I will need to devote more of my time to starting the business in Florida. While I am confident in my H.I. skills, there are some aspects of starting the business in Florida that will be new to me. New York is much  different then Florida in so many ways.

After putting up with a long Buffalo winter, I am ready for another trip to Florida. We'll be down there again for most of April and the first part of May. Then it will be back up to NY to finalize things for a few more months. While down there, I'd like to meet a few other Florida H.I's and get a better feel for the Florida way of doing things.

Thank you again for your kind help. I look forward to meeting you.

Respectfully,  Frank

Nice pics Gordy!

I have no problem with hunting or fishing. My youngest son hunts a lot.....my basement is full of gun cabinets, tree stands, etc. I currently have over 30 deer in my back yard as we speak.......too bad it is not deer season up here.

Looking forward to retiring from the Fire Dept and starting my new career in Florida......

Gordy, Just wondered if you ever got a good Florida template?  I've been working on one a bit, but I have to think that out of all the good southern US inspectors, there already has to be a good one designed for a southern house, with crawlspaces, slab, no basements, and the other things unique about southern homes.
If I have to re-invent the wheel I will.....but it might save time to just tweak one that is already there......
