Sounds like a good option. I do have some other suggestion for an issue that I often run into. When I work with the selection panels and highlight the choice, then go to the damage panel and highlight the choice and move it over into the "selected" box, sometimes, farther down the report writing, I space out and forget to move over the damage selection into the "selected" box,. It usually happens when I had several selection panels only in the row, and then pops a damage panel only, so my eyes get used to highlighted item being left behind. So I move on, not realizing that I did not complete the selection of the damage item. And of course I don't necessarily catch it on a review. I'll find it next day, when I am rested and when I review the uploaded version of the report. So I was wondering, if there was a way to simplify that, by having a scan check prior to generating of the report, that would check and notify me that there are items selected in the damage panels, that weren't moved over to "selected" box. Same process would check for rating boxes being left unchecked. Then it would notify me to make the corrections as needed. This would avoid making omissions by accident.
Better yet, I would prefer, if the item could be selected in the damage panel with a right click and it would automatically jump/move into the "selected" box by itself. Or select with left / move out with right click. Then there would be no way of leaving it behind. Editing would still stay the same with a left double click. I think the program is really great. It generates very nice transparent and thorough reports. I love the flexibility of the template modifications. And the best part is, I get excellent feedback from my clients. Regards, |

We're working on a check of completion based on ratings left unchecked for people using ratings and tabs being clicked on for those that don't. Checking for a selected Damage Panel is a possibility too.
I've though about the left click/right click for black & red sections but the problem is that more than half of our users use a tablet and not all of them have a right click option. They have to rely on the buttons to move things over. I'll see what else we can work in though for checking for missing items. |

I think checking for the comments left behind in the Damage Panel is probably more important than the checking the ratings. It is easy to verify the ratings at the end. But in the process of writing new comments and selecting from existing ones, it is really difficult to verify if everything was included at the end. There is just a lot of information that is writen and even more information that is just retained in one's head. At the end of the report it is hard to distinguish between the two.

If you are using ratings in your report, nothing looks worse than having empty ratings boxes on a finished report. To the client, it looks like you missed something. If you have the ratings complete and missed a narrative, you could get away with that. You really don't want to miss either.

I can create options in the Report Settings area to let you guys choose what you want to be checked, then just loop through all the Damage Panels and Ratings to see what's left over.

If I am following this correctly having material comments in a renamed damage panel will cause the material comments to be the same color as Damage in the font.
So if you use red on damage comments all your material comments will look like defects. |
