For me I worked in the chemical industry for 14 years. Started out with Kodak when I lived in Rochester, then I got transferred to Eastman Chemical in  Tennessee. I have always been in the construction trade though, as my time at Kodak and Eastman was mainly shiftwork. So I only worked 14 days out of the month, and that left plenty of time to run other businesses (carpentry, home building) on the side. I started inspections in 2001 in TN, and moved to Atlanta in 2006 and took on inspections full time.

To say the least, it was the best move I ever made.

Hmm ok here goes, started in 1989 as  inspection diver and marine construction, contaminated water diving. in 2000 I started with a commercial construction firm project manager and supervisor along the way the compant sidebarred into residential (mostly due to lack of good companys) and I then did the same there, from swing hammers, tape and bedding, layouts, HVAC, Plumbing, interior  steel walls, drywall, electrical ( when the lazy sparkys would not show up) to finish out.
I was always checking out propertys for friends and family and 2007 I formally started my company and did my own business. here we are and loving every miniute
