TOPIC: Using HIP with Inspection notes.

Re: Using HIP with Inspection notes. 15 years 8 months ago #9726

Well, I downloaded the upgrades and have no idea where it went and what it did.
Al I know is now I go about 7 templates.
Canadian, Texas, Nachi Com/ two defaults an two backups.

Man, I better stay with my day job I think. I don't have enough computer knowledge for this.
It is going to take me a year to learn how to use this.  ;D ;)

Drew, where is this template #2 your talking about?

LOL. If you saw the new templates that means you had it installed. Russ's is Residential Template 2. Get some popcorn, watch the animations and let us know if you have any questions.

Marcel, being from the colder region I understand your dilema. Use the blank as suggested, but skip the grease pen, won't work if you have a few in a row. Use a voice recorder, you can find them for 30 or 40 bucks. Get one that has folders in it. tha way you can use one folder for each inspection. Works for me, and it won't freeze up. ;)

Thanks Ian, and good idea. And I also like the idea of making a blank copy so there is a systematic way of inspecting in corospondence with the report itself.

Thanks One of these days I will figure this thing out. ha. ha.

Ian, how long does it take you to produce a report once you get home. I have a PDA which I do not use anymore, I ran 3D HI Software. It was fast but pricey and a pain in the a$$. (subscription fees, not that easy to master, syncing a PDA to a computer is a bit of a chore) The tablet computer I thought would be the quick way through an inspection. It is more versatile than the PDA and when you leave the site you are done except for a proof read. I did some mock reports with the new Residential #2 in the HIP Beta I can honestly do one in an hour from notes, on a laptop, with about 45 pics (not all captioned), at the kitchen table. I thought that was fast. A tablet with a template like that I thought would be fast.

Just a thought, Drew
