TOPIC: Date on Contract

Date on Contract 15 years 3 months ago #18434

Okay,
I figured out how to get my signature to come up on the contract. Is there
a way for the date section across from sig to be auto filled in.
I fill in client info etc, add signature, save a PDF copy but doesn't have date on it.
What am I not doing or what do I need to do?

I think this sun has burned my brain, 23 days in row over 110

Hmm, good point. The big thing I wanted to get done in the last version was add the signature, but the date is important!

I just added in the date when you generate the report into the contract for the next version. It will only populate if you're using the digital signature. Can anyone see a reason why you wouldn't want this date auto filled with the generation date?

Next version should also have client signature too.

Hmm, 110, you could definitely scramble your brain! Make sure to wear a hat with a fan to blow on you and two straws to drink liquids from :D

Does the date fill in for the customer too?  I think this could get people into trouble.  Also, I don't think I would want to auto fill in my signature either.  My signature is the last one to be put on the contract.  I've had customers try to sneak in some changes on the contract and if you signature is on it already, YOU HAVE A BINDING CONTRACT!!!

My contract states that no changes can be made, and if my signature is not on it, the inspection is null and void.  Also, my 200% guarantee is not valid if my signature is not on it.

The contract is in a secure, encrypted pdf format, how can the client change it? If you go back into the program and edit the contract and generate a new one, it would add the date again.

No the client date won't fill out until I add the feature for the client to sign on a tablet, then it will date when they sign digitally only.

The client wrote on the back of the contract her own little paragraph then signed it.  I of course, didn't sign it because she had tried to change it.  Long story short, she had the completed inspection in hand and I had an altered contract that I wouldn't sign.

Even if they read and sign it right in front of you, if you signature is on it all they have to do is write something down on it and sign it and its binding.  That's my worry!  As for the date, if they don't sign it that day, they you have to print a second one.  That's not such a big deal but a waste of ink and paper.  The signature is the one I would worry about the most though.

Not true at all. If you have signed it with today's date. Then you go to your inspection tomorrow with the contract in hand. They sign it with tomorrows date and then add HAND WRITTEN text, their text is totally void. What would stop them from adding stuff a month from now the way you do it now? Any additional written text on the contract would have to be at least initialed, if not signed by you.

Their date isn't printed on their unless they will be electronically signing it.
