TOPIC: Introduce Yourself!

My name is Jeff Moore. Started my adult life as a Corpsman in the Navy, spent a few weeks tromping through the
lovely Vietnam countryside picking up a couple of holes and medal to plug them. Went to Nuclear Medicine school
33years ago. Learned to play with nuclear reactors and weapons along with radiopharmaceauticals used to diagnose
cancer and heart disease. Got out of service way to early but did so to be able to provide a better life for my son and
to be able to be home for more than a week at a time. Kept at the Nuclear medicine part while becoming a rehaber/flipper
for several years. After many years doing and teaching and having own nuclear business I bought a nightmare home. This started my investigation into thermal imaging. That education led me to home inspection education and the combining of both. That led me to DOM and
I am a HIPPIE again. I remember tye dye and funny smelling cigs. I think I do anyway.
I still continue to provide cardiac nuclear medicine to several cardiologists on a part time basis (if I am available) just because its something
I feel that I need to do. They are good docs and care for their patients and don't see them a a new car payment. I provide a quality control kind of overview on case I don't do cause, after all it isn't a hangnail we are checking. Tough times breaking into the world of home inspections
in this area for a new guy. Nobody seems to want to give you a chance but I will make it happen.

I see that everyone is being pretty shy here, so I'll try and get things going again.  My name is Casey Patten, live in SE Minnesota and am attempting to kick down the doors of the real estate groups here.  I have 2 little kids (2 1/2 and almost 1) that love to "type" as I'm working!  To drag myself away from the keyboard, I run, fish, hunt, anything outdoors.  I have a biology degree and an exercise/sports science background, both of which obviously have done me WORLDS of good!  I've held just about every job you can imagine, including working in a zoo (actually got to track down a rogue otter), research assistant for the USDA, worked for UPS, even coaching track at a small college ($15K/year just doesn't cut it).  I've gone back to working with my dad the last 6 years in carpentry and remodel work, but need something to do on my own.  We can only "not kill" each other so long...
I really enjoy inspecting, especially when folks are able to make better decisions based on what I can show them.  Like Jeff said above, it's tough breaking in, even with a couple local guys that I've known for years.  Really glad I've gotten in with Dominic on website hosting, it's been pretty easy so far, even though there are times I'd like to take a hammer to the computer.  This message board is awesome, thanks for all the great info!

Hey Casey, we've found that if you use one of your kids plastic hammers you can get your aggression out, and not harm the computer at the same time. Welcome to the club

Update....

I am now a married man!  Had a great wedding where nothing went to plan.  My mother somehow got my truck keys and I got stranded at the church for 45 min while I tracked them down and she brought them back.  But it all worked out in the end.  Had an awesome receptions! 

Had an even better honeymoon in Cancun!  I can get use to a five star hotel!
