TOPIC: Whatever Lady

Had an inspection scheduled for early this morning. I actually showed up an hour early(vacant) and got most of the exterior finished. Scheduled time comes and goes and no realtor(customer is out of state, vacation property). I wait around for a while, goof around on my computer, drink some hot chocolate, call my wife......

After half an hour, I'm starting to get a little steamed. I call the realtor, and no answer. So, I leave a message, figuring she's on the phone and will call right back. So, I cruise down to a convvenience store a few miles down the road to get a donut to snack on, and go back to theis house. Still no callback. I call again, leave another message. Now, I start to doubt myself. Am I here on the wrong day, was it scheduled for this afternoon? Wrong realtor? What is going on here?

After I had waited an hour plus, I called the broker office and asked what was going on? The broker said he had not heard from the lady this morning. He made some calls and FINALLY got a hold of her. Yeah, sorry, she  is showing some houses to clients this morning, she will be back around 1.

Now, I am really bent. How flippin rude of this *****, like my time don't matter. She tells the broker she will call me back in 15 minutes. Whatever lady. So, I ask the broker if I can just have the key, I will go do the inspection and  be on my way. He says sure, goes to get the key, no lockbox(don't know why), and it's not there. The flippin realtor has it. So, now I have to wait on her.

She finally calls me back, while I'm on my way to the bank and then back home until this afternoon. She TELLS me to meet her at the house at 2 this afternoon. I told her that wouldn't work out as I have another inspection to do. Now she completely flips out on me because this inspection needs to be done by tomorrow. I politely informed her that I was there at the scheduled inspection time this morning and was waiting for her. LMAO, this didn't go ever too well with her, but it's the truth.

Now, she tells me she will hire another inspector. I said,  OUR client hired ME, not some other inspector, and it wasn't OUR clients' fault that SHE was not there this morning. This really got her wound up. Started cussing at me, sailors would be so proud, telling me I was fired, blah, blah, blah. I told  her to call me back after she had settled down as I NEEDED to call MY client. You know how that went over.

So, I called the client, explained the situation, told them I could go back tomorrow afternoon, there would be an additional fee(which I suggested should be paid by you know who) and he said no problem, he would call the BROKER and get this set up. Great.

Now the broker just called me back and confirmed everythiing for tomorrow and was very pleasant. Told me I could come grab the keys whenever I wished, or he would meet me there. Apparently, the realtor will be BUSY tomorrow afternoon. He also requested that I send the report to HIM nad not HER. Sure, no problem.

So, in the end, I still have my inspection, just at a later time. And I managed to set one rude ****** realtor in her place. And that felt good. I get really tired of being treated like the doormat in this profession by realtors sometimes. You would think they would be a little more appreciative, we do cover their a$$ alot of times. Just had to vent. Hope she goes out and sells a bunch this week, but probably won't with that attitude.

Lets see!!!  You spent how many hours waiting. How much is your time worth. I would charge her the cost of an inspection.

Hey Dave. I like that idea. I spoke to the broker and he agreed to pay me for my time today at full inspection price. really nice guy. I just can't figure out what this womans' problem was.
