I don't see no stinkin' fogging!
Here, watch as I breath on the glass - see, there's fog! That means they don't need to be replaced. That's how they do it on the space shuttle. Try that one, John - see what she says! Better - why spend the money on windows when the house needs to be repainted - let's see... yeah, Redskin colors! Best use of funds... I saw Norm do the ice cube trick about 50 years ago on "This Old House." It works - try it! |

I did! It was a big old Philco, honey blond wood framing and a B & W picture tube about 20 inches corner to corner.
We had three channels. It took about three minutes to heat up to watch it. You had to turn the TV on long before your show came on or you would miss the beginning. When we turned it off the picture collapsed into a small dot in the center of the screen which got progressively smaller until it disappeared. If you looked into the dot, to see if the picture itself had collapsed, you couldn't see anything. It was just a small, white dot with nothing to see. Philco TVs were invented by Philo T. Farnsworth in his basement. He filed his patent upon the suggestion of a friend. Later he learned that a Russian guy had filed a similar patent over there, but a few hours later than he did! So he go credit for the invention! That TV was used until I went away to college. Norm, however, was more recent than 50 years... I saw that particular ice cube show about 10 years ago. |
