TOPIC: How does HIP for Android work?

I am evaluating new software for my Android to do inspections on-site and deliver reports on-site or maybe review and send later. Either way I would like the option. I noticed in the Pricing section that the Upload service was required with the Android version so I signed up for the free trial. I sent my report from my tablet and went to the website looking for the report and it said I don't have any. What am I missing?

You need to install Home Inspector Pro Mobile from the Google Play store.

Then on HIP desktop you need to go to Mobile Sync and upload your template(s) to the cloud.
On HIP Mobile go to the Sync tab and download the template.
On HIP mobile go to the Manage tab, select your template of choice and click Create.
Do your inspection on HIP mobile.
On HIP Mobile go to Sync tab and upload your inspection to the cloud. \
On HIP desktop go to Mobile Sync tab and download your inspection, then open it and generate your report.

Basically, send template to cloud, download to phone, do inspection, send inspection back to cloud and load on desktop.

Thanks Dominic,  I did find the video shortly after my post. I did all the steps above the day before but it was the last step that I did not understand or missed. I was hoping that after the upload to the cloud that I could go to the website and release the report to my client but now I see I have to have the desktop version. Are there any plans in the near future to be able to do this? I am not interested in purchasing the desktop version just to send off the report. Even if I don't finish the report on-site I feel that I could finish it from my tablet and email it out unless the mobile version doesn't give me a complete report. There is a lot about this software that I still don't understand. I'm still learning.

Unfortunately phones aren't quite strong enough yet to do everything we need. You can use a Windows tablet like the HP Slate to do the full inspection and you'd be 100% done on site. But it would be very impossible for Android to do everything we do with templates, formatting, etc at this time. Android limits apps to 16 megs of ram per app where HIP desktop is using a minimum of 256megs and often twice that. Android is just not quite there yet.

So Dominic, can I purchase the desk top program to run on Windows 8.1 and the Android version will work on my Android Asus tablet?

Yup! Just make sure it's the full Windows version and not the "RT" edition.
