TOPIC: Inspections Associtations

Hmmm I need to look into errors and omissions further. 

Each occurrence $500k, General Aggregate 1 Mil, Products/completed operations aggregate 1 Mil, Personal and advertising injury 500k, fire legal liability 300k,  medical expenses $10k, employment practices liability 5k per claim, and aggregate.  The agent mentioned professional insurance but said that is for Dr's lawyers, etc.

I definitely don't plan to stay with this co, I just had to find SOMEONE for the time being.  I will check into that FREA that you mentioned.

FREA is very good but expensive. Obviously All State is a huge company. The other guys would know more about what's acceptable or not. I've just always heard quotes averaging $1400-$3000 a year. If you found a huge company like All State doing it for that price it would be great to let others know!

John - It does not sound like you have E&O insurance, but a General Liability policy.  I think Dom hit on it - you likely don't have any E&O.  That $422 sounded very, very low.  I have a separate General Liability (including Workman's Comp) in addition to my E&O insurance, which is a little less than that $422.  You probably need to look into that kind of coverage as well.  My current E&O policy, not with FREA this year, cost me $1887.  That represents a dramatic savings!  And it is better coverage than I got with FREA.  I can put you in touch with them, but they are very strict with who they cover and they would want 3 years experience as a Home Inspector, with no claims or complaints.

I would like the name of your co.  I am going to talk to my insurance co first and see if that's something they offer.  I definitely think that's something I should have.  It sometimes amazes me what insurance co try to get away with.  Its a racket it tell you, a racket!  lol

I think I remember reading that NACHI members now get free general liability through FREA, but they are still expensive.

I'll do that.  My policy should come in the mail any day now.  I'm waiting for that so I can have everything in front of me before I make the calls.  In the mean time I need work!!!  LOL
