Whatever it is, there has to be some logical progression. There is logic to Newbie, Junior, Senior... and so forth. I have seen over time that there is some objection to "Newbie," but it is a word used in our vernacular.
I kind of like Big Mac as indicating a top poster. But it does kind of advertise something, and there have to be levels below it that are logical and indicate something that's getting bigger or more numerous. Small fries, large fries, burger, double cheese, quarter pounder, half pounder, full pounder, Big Mac? Whatever, something has to indicate progression. On Google, "Small Fries" has a better look than "Small Fry," because those words in our vernacular convey something that is small or weak. Fries, though, have a different image than the burgers, so mixing them with burgers isn't as logical. Since we are inspectors, we could go with something like Condo, Townhouse, Duplex, Ranch, Colonial, Mansion. That indicates progression. But the words don't have a logical progression when you see them separated. The words "Colonial Member" by themselves don't convey much logic as to what may have preceded or what follows. The words "Senior Member" indicate that something must have come before and you would understand what comes after to be bigger or have more importance. I suggested once planets - from small to large - Mercury, Mars, Earth, Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter. The Romans used Jupiter to indicate the biggest, top-dog God. Uranus couldn't be used for obvious reasons, and Venus is typically indicative of femininity. Dominic, of course, would be The Site Sun - most important, largest, hottest, giving light, etc. The pizza idea might work. Cheese, pepperoni, two-topping, three-topping, the works... the logic and progression is somewhat there, but not entirely. Dogs from small breeds to large. Images there might convey something less desirable, like Pit Bull, or Chihuahua. Money works too - $50, $100, $250, $500, Large. Two thousand posts could be $2Large, three thousand $3Large. That follows logically and the image works with numbers of posts. A $50 Member doesn't look so bad on Google. There's Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, Eagle. Those work for me! So take it away guys! It is fun to read everyone's ideas. So, let's show some progression --> ??? : ;D Have fun! |
