Hi Bert,

How did you like the carson/dunlop training? Did you do it online or in a class?
As I mentioned in my first post, I am enrolled to take the www.inspect4u.ca course in March 2010 inAlliston Ont.It is classroom training and on site training.

I think the Carson Dunlop training was great.  Very detailed.  I have some reservations as well but that will likely happen regardless of where you get your education.  I don't know anything about inspect4u other than what I read on their site just now.  It is definitely cheaper than Carson Dunlop and not near as long.  Make sure you do lots of additional study after you finish the course.  www.nachi.org/ has a lot of great material.  I am planning on going through a lot of their stuff as well.

Best of Luck to you  :)

Thank you.

Hi Bert
welcome to the biz, I would recommend you having HIP sooner then later, the more familiar you are with it and the longer you have it you can customize the remarks section to your liking.
Look at getting hooked up with a mentor in your area, they can guide you along and show you some methods that will aid you in inspection process.
I am from the Kingston area about 3 hours east of you.
Take your time with starting, do a bunch of mock inspections and work the report so it looks nice and have a good logo done, that will flow with the report as well.
give me a hollar if you get stuck, always happy to help out a fellow Hipster.

Thanks William.  I checked it out on Google Maps.  From my place to Kingston itself it says is 4.5 hours.  I was thinking to ask you if I could go on a few inspections with you but 4.5 hrs one way is a bit much.
