TOPIC: Members only?

Is there a forum that only members can see? Or is what we post here open to the general public and Google?

Isn't everyone a member?  I think you have to register and join to be able to access the message board, no?

That is what I am thinking. But, what if we want to discuss issues that would be better in private? I am sure that there are levels of membership and some forums can be set up to allow certain members to access them and others not.

Everything is open to the public to read. It's good for search engines too as it gets your link back to your site. You have to register to post, except in the Ask an Inspector section. What would you have to discuss in private? I've prided ourselves in the fact that we're the only inspection software related board that's open to the public view, even our beta discussion area (at least I haven't seen any other forums open).

So, what's the secret you wanted to talk about?

No secrets, just complaints(Not about HIP).

Maybe you can discuss it in the chat room.  Can the search engines see those communications?
