TOPIC: Materials Provided to Clients

Materials Provided to Clients 15 years 4 months ago #15902

I wanted to ask what other inspectors are providing/offering to there clients.

For example I email my reports within a few hours after completion of the inspection.

At the end of the inspection I hand my client a binder full of printed information, books and other related materials.

I was just curious as to what others provide and the approximate cost & time involved to prepare for each inspection.

I would say I spend 30-60 minutes to print and prepare my inspection package. I would say with materials and ink I spend $15-$20 per inspection. I provide addition information for WDI & Radon.

I want to try doing things different to build my web traffic and save on expenses.

I also have some idea's I am going to try on future clients.

I think you could definitively add more links to your website within your report for special pages.

What printer do you have? I might be able to cut down your printing costs dramatically. $15-$20 per inspection is quite a bit.

Dom

I have an updated printer. I just print about 40-50 pages of material per client and add into a report binder with manual and other books, pamphlets & guides.

I want to eliminate the printed material and embed in my site & report.

I need to make a plan so I can accomplish my goals.

I was going to look into a refill kit for you as they will cut your print cost to 10% of what they are now. Eliminating it completely will work great too though!

Dom, I need to invest in a copier, do you recommend a particular brand?
I have a Lexmark right now that the auto feed is driving me nuts due to jambing and the last two reports I did, of course had umpteen photos, took one full black and one full color cartridge.
That equates to $57.
Way too much money compared to the $15 I used to spend for an album with arrows on the pictures on plastic inserts.
:)

Marcel, are you looking for a copier, a printer, or something that does both?

That's WAY too much ink, wow. The lexmark's though are famous for small and expensive ink and practically free printers.
