TOPIC: Last One To Post Wins!!

Right Ian, rifles in MN only north of Highway 10 (runs from Moorhead, to St. Cloud, to the Cities); or something like that.  Not sure why, but I'm guessing the more open areas in SW and S.Central MN would mean a lot longer bullet flights if you miss.  Up north, at least there's a chance of a tree! 
I've got my bow sighted at a max of 60 yards...and that shot would only be if I was sitting over the field with no corn...I figure if I can't get them closer than that, I should hang it up!  Besides, the deer I shot Tuesday...9 yards from me...that's point blank in ANY book! 

I only sight in to 50 and would not shoot that far at a deer with my bow. Too much can go wrong. Rifles in Northern part of the state if I understood correctly? Should be able to use a rifle up there I would think.

Ian, correct, rifles basically north of the Twin Cities (+/- some mileage)...just a safety deal, as I understood from the DNR today.  My bow (Mission, the Mathews affordable bow), when I talked to the guy I bought it from, shoots at about 315 fps...that's faster than my Dad's Mathews (295 fps)...guy I bought from used one on an elk hunt, knocked down an elk at 55 yards.  Impressed me enough to buy...the buck I shot would have been a clean pass through, but he was quartered toward me, and the arrow hit his hind left leg and shattered it...found lots of bone fragments as I cleaned that quarter.  So, I feel confident at 60 yards of clear shot.  But, only take a shot you feel confident of a kill with...learned that long ago, as I'm sure you did!

Oh most definitely Casey. Check out my decoy in action. Got this one on video tonight. Can't believe no bucks were chasin her. Was still fun to watch her try to work her magic though.

Not good enough. I picked the wrong TE in the HIPPIES 1 fantasy league and lost out on 25 points that would have allowed me to kick Bill Warners butt. Oh well, I won in HIPPIES 2 by a large margin at least!
