Harvey, I just took the test in February. I studied the Nachi tests until I was blue in the face and none of the Nachi questions were relevant to the version of the test I took. I also tried comp u cram and that was better than Nachi.
I think the test was made difficult by the fact that the format was tricky. For instance, many of the questions were inspection pictures and they would ask you to describe defects that you saw and would give you multiple choice answers that were not obvious in the photo. In other words, there were obvious defects in the photos that were not available to you in the multiple choice answers. The other thing that I found was that people said 'If you do not know an answer, skip it and another question may relate to it and jar your memory for the answer you skipped'. I did not find that at all. I think it was 300 questions total and all of mine were pretty unique. There were multiple questions on the same topic, but the questions were unique to each other. The site for the NIHE has a link where you can purchase practice exams.I think they are 50.00 (don't quote me). Comp u Cram is 69.00 and I think the practice exams would be better. Good Luck |

Thank you Drew for your reply. I purchases Compu Cram and went through all the questions. I also have the National Home Inspection Exam Prep Book by Carson Dunlop. Hopefully with these two test tools I may pass the examination.

NACHI test is nothing compared to the National Exam. Study your butt off and you'll do okay. If you don't study, expect it to be difficult.
