This was one of those 1st time laughable situations.

At least they did not cut the rafters.

Wow! Cut a hole and slap down some plexiglass. Definitely looks like a Billy Jays special!

Is that actually in a house or is it in a shed or something?

This was the detached garage.

Billy Jay/Ray also added a building off the garage that was similar to the skylight. Unfortunately Billy Jay/Ray installed the deck and modified the electrical system along with portions of the plumbing.

It is quite impressive how homeowners and non qualified professionals mess up there homes.

People star at me with a blank look when I explain about permits, professional documentation.
In my own neighborhood I am the only one that contacts the local jurisdiction and has permits done.

But I do not have electrical wires hanging dangerously low over a pool, fireplaces with combustible facing, exterior excavation done improperly, fences installed on other people property.

I did an inspection out of town in another county on Tuesday. County has no official building codes. County does require a building permit, but just to collect fees.

David, did you walk on it? Will it handle a snow load? Are the sides of the plexiglass stepped into the shingles? LOL
Just kidding. Haven't seen nothin like that one. It won't last long one way or another.
