TOPIC: Can you do this?

I have official documentation that goes back many years where this subject is so old now it can vote! The NEC rule in 408.41 was added only to call attention to this subject that was found in a UL standard; and it was always improper to use one termination on a grounded conductor (neutral) bar in equipment enclosures unless it was designed and listed for that use, see Article 110.

The rule in 110.14 also goes back long before many were born.

There are those who frequent this board who are aware of the long winded and sometimes heated discussions covering this issue and have asked the same questions about electricians.

I say that some need to be retrained or they should be sent home; and believe me many have been sent home because of so called neutral issues that caused major damage and fires in another part of the world. Also the lost neutral has been the reason for twice the voltage being generated through systems causing appliances to burn up!

I welcome more comments here on this subject hoping that they will be from those who have no ax to grind, and only want to add to a meaningful and technical discussion.

Disconnecting Means. A device, or group of devices, or other means by which the conductors of a circuit can be disconnected from their source of supply.
