Dom, what is the road map for HIP on android? Will there come a time when android will be able to handle the whole inspection like Mac or Windows? Or, if we wanted a stand alone system, we will always need Mac or windows. I ask because of fall upgrade gift to myself,currently favoring win 8 tablet with changeable battery or 8 hr battery life. BUT, after dropping my playskol ctl2go and having it survive, might just replace it with there latest and greatest.

The android can't create the PDF right now and can't do a few other things. You can collect all the data, upload to your desktop to finish the inspection. It's not quite as powerful as we'd need it to do everything.

I  wondered about that, it seems that every day these arm processors are coming out with more and more cores, I was thinking that maybe it was growing into another desk top capable system. Hopefully the new intelx86 processors will be frugal enough to last unpluged in a tablet later this year

The other issue is that there's a HUGE amount of additional programming that will need to be done to make Android/iPhone/iPad do everything HIP does. We're talking another 70,000 lines of code. So it'll be awhile before it can do it all, unless they start to support the full version of Java, which is possible.
