As far as I am concerned, the stylus, handwriting is poor when using HIP compared to what I am currently using. I am trying to get some assistance on the pen options and handwriting. I tried the CTL live support and that was a joke. What is the recommended setting for pen options in control panel/hardware and sound? What are the recommendations for the handwriting. I tried it and do I have to write in upper and lower case? So far all caps. The 10 inch screen is nice but it is still somewhat large to carry around. Battery life is good. |

Hey guys,
I am looking into the issues that some of you are having with feeling like you have to put too much pressure on the screen to be able to write. One thing that you need to do if you use the MyScript program is train it to recognize your handwriting. It will have you write each letter twice and each number twice, as well as some of the common symbols. At least, this was how it was when I tried it out of the first batch. I am going to be taking a unit home and spending alot of time working it over, so that I can help you guys out better. With the other stuff that I do here, it is next to impossible to do this at work, so I will do my best to get it done over the weekend so that I can come back to you guys with answers. I will test it with the HIP software as well, to see how everything fares. I want to help you guys out as much as possible on this, so I appreciate your patience while I get it looked at. It may also be that some of you have units with small screen issues as well, since I have only heard of this a couple of times so far and I literally process ever single return we do. I will be back with more info! |

Ahh I remember doing the screen training now too. David you would right a capital like R and lower case r. The program recognizes the difference just like the Q1 would if you were writing on it.

I did that as well. I also wrote all the sentences (twice I think) and submitted them for recognition. What I am wondering is; does the program use the regular writing I would do on HIP to add to its data base if you like, for recognizing my handwriting. Thanks for your efforts. |

I have a bit of trouble with O and o, P and p, K and k. If I write the capitals extra large, it does recognize it most of the time.

What version of Windows are you using, as there are two writing programs. Remember thateven if you're off a bit that there are several words that popup below that the program thinks you're trying to write that you can select. The word I want is in that list 99% of the time.
