External hard drive and burn to cd and put in safety deposit box. Remember you need to get 4-5 years in CA but definitely not on the CTL2Go.

I also like the HP "Simple Save" Backup hard drive, or the "Clickfree" Backup drive. ? ? They are intended as backup systems, not just external hard drives. ?
I would lean towards the Clickfree because (if Im correct)...you can tell it to backup files in the "Program Files" directory, where the HP system will skips the Programs Dir, and that's where HIP lives...so you would need to Drag and Drop that folder. |

Carbonite "Mirror Image" will "back-up" the operating system also. It must be installed to an external HD that is not being used for anything else. Basically, copy the image and put it into a safty deposit box, until you wish to copy a new image at a later date. ?

Here is the reason I haven't used Carbonite...my reasoning MAY be flawed, so don't take this as gospel.
Over the years when I have had a computer crash, 7/10 of the time it was some virus. 3/10 a hardware crash. If I had replicated my hard drive, my concern is coping the virus as well. I have always done a clean restore when needed...and then reinstalled my data. |
