Here is one area of the HIP report program I would like to see improved on. We briefly spoke about the following.
Have a separate client info, address book, invoice system and contract pages. This way I could create my reports ahead of time and still edit each report template. You would need to make it so the client info would then be able to copy over to the HIP program. The reason is for example today I have a 4PM inspection. I have one tomorrow at 11AM. I need to create client info to email out contract ahead of time. Now if I already have another report created then if I edit template in field today it will not be saved in the report I have made for tomorrow. Are you with me. If not you are against me!! I would think this would be easy for you to create. A simple office program. You could also make a document section for creating follow up letters to agents, clients. |

Already working on a save client info feature which you could use instead of save inspection. Then you could open client info later into any template. This will also be used to interact with other systems we have planned.

Dominic, Have you thought of creating an INVOICE separate page -- very much like your contract page? Take a look at the example one attached. You could use the $variables already built in (like your contract page).
May be someone has already suggested this. If so, I ditto it. |

1) Would be nice if the phone number and email info appeared on the cover page as additional info.
Reason is I had my netbook out in the field today and did not have my new clients phone or email address with. To explain I take primary info and send a fake cover PDF with a pic of the place to be inspected off the web and send it to my clients as a confirmation email. Problem is that the program does not show all client info on the PDF. Might be nice to be able to place all my client info and notes in HIP and have some kind of online access. Sure I could keep the info on a aux drive but that is extra steps that take lots of time. Guess I am thinking on stop shopping. Also I could copy paste client info to my PIM but that is only possible one box at a time as you cant copy the whole page and paste in HIP software. 2)I wish the docs could revert to original template when changed. I use a cover letter and of course if I make a change for a client it does not revert to the original as it is permanently lost. |

For #2 , check out the new variables. You can now say: Dear $ClientName1, Thanks you for allowing me to inspect $InspectionAddress, etc. So the program will auto populate the fields when you go to print. We're going to be working on the ability for you to customize the cover page to your liking using the new variable features once we get done with a few other projects. You could also set your GMail account to automatically sync with your blackberry so that any contact you add to one shows in the other. The email is listed on the HIP site when you upload your report, just click on the clients name, which you can access on your phone. That or use your black book for your clients |
