TOPIC: Reduce one Click when adding Captions to HIP mobile

When you want to add a Caption to a Photo using HIP mobile.

Currently you click right of the Photo and a new screen opens up. (See first attachment).

The new screen that now opens gives you an option to Pick a Caption or type in a caption.
The HIP software could skip this first step and go straight to the "Pick a Caption" page. (See second attachment) and save you one Click if you are going to Click on a saved Caption.

If you are going to type in a Caption you will not save a Click unless the software automatically opens up the keyboard, as you currently need to make a second click to open up the keyboard. I would guess that most users would use pre-saved Captions in any event.

Great thinking Peter. The problem is that if inspectors type more then select an existing caption it will cost then an extra click as they have to now close the drop down. I can definitely see that the keyboard should automatically be opening.

Can we get opinions from other inspectors. How often do you use an existing caption vs type a new one?

They wont have to close the drop down or lose any clicks, as the top button in the new screen "Pick a Caption" allows an inspector to type any caption if clicked.

I tested HIP on the phone for the first time. I am one that would use the "Pick Caption" more than typing.
One thing I noticed with my test today is that the first word I typed would not automatically select "uppercase" for the first letter. This was throughout the HIP Mobile, not just captions. I am on a Droid with Kii keyboard.
Questions:
Camera app choice when using HIP mobile on the phone?
Keyboard choice when on HIP mobile phone?
Do you have to have service (wifi or 4g, etc) when using the phone HIP Mobile or it just like the iPad?
What about when a phone call comes in or email, etc. Does it knock you out of HIP Mobile and save?

I am planning to upgrade phones and would use this phone (old phone) for HIP Mobile only. It would be my "HIP" phone. Then upload to the cloud when around free wifi. I am curious if HIP Mobile tends to "bog down" the phone, memory, etc.

You don't need service when using the phone.

You don't lose anything when a call comes in.
