Yes, a color based sort would be awesome. Or even the ability to add "black" observations to one page and "red" to another page. Either option would be wonderful.
On another note. Is there currently a way to add the date to the bottom or top of ever page of the report. It would be better to have date and company name on the bottom as an option. Two reasons, one is personal name creates personal liability instead of the company itself. We already have inspector name and license number on front page. Second, if date is not on ever page there is no way to legally prove the specific page was printed or written on that date. We all are really supposed to have the date on every page. As always, a big thumbs up to Home Inspector Pro. Best program to come around in a long time. |

Hi Callahan,
Legally there's no difference between the inspector name on the cover or every other page especially since the company name is on there too. We've had attorneys looking over our reports for years and none have every mentioned the need for the date on every page. You're distributing an encrypted PDF file that has a time stamp in the PDF shows when the report was generated, plus it's on the cover page. The PDF can't be separated into separate pages so if the cover page has the date, then that's the date. I can always create other header footer options if you guys wanted but the inspector name must be on every page (this is required by law in almost every licensed state) as well as the page number. I think the client address is more important than the date as you're proving what house it's referring to. That leaves one last field of the 4 to put something else in. You could do date or company name there (most guys want company name). Though as long as the inspector name is there I'm open to other formats. |
