Hey Darin,
I'm glad you liked it, it gets even better the more you adjust it to your liking. Where did you see jpg or gif only for the logo? When I click Add Logo it lists all 3 in the file type. Is this in an animated tutorial that will need updating? Unfortunately we can't implement a full WYSIWYG yet because we have to literally translate the html into PDF language. This is part of how we get the fine grained control over the look of the report and the small file sizes of the PDF's. It's like translating English to French but not all the words exist in the translator. So we're limited to what we can translate. As time has gone on we've been adding more and more words so you'll have more control. Yes, Word will definitely do that. If you click to see the source code after pasting from Word you'll see why. You can paste from Word->Notepad->HIP as notepad will strip out all formatting since it can't support it. Then you'll be good to go. |

Yes, the lack of png support for the logo was seen in the tuts : .
When does the HTML -> PDF translation occur? If I am understanding you, when you create a new document, HIP creates an html file that is then translated into PDF during report generation? Since the <font> tag is deprecated in HTML (or will be soon), can you not use styles i.e. '<p style="font-family:verdana;font-size:80%;color:green">blah blah</p>' instead? I would love to see the nuts and bolts of how this works. |

Hi Darin,
Yes it's converted when you click Generate Report. You can still use the font tag. Click on the hidden source button to see what I mean. Percentages make no sense when it comes to PDF's. On a web page a 80% font size makes the font size relative to the monitor size. PDF's are fixed documents that must look identical no matter what sized monitor, they must always print the same from any computer. That's an example of why there's only a limited spectrum of HTML that can be used and then converted. Basically most of HTML 4 , fonts, tables, background, etc will all work fine. |

HAHA. No I really meant it!!! It's hidden as it would just be confusing to 99% of guys and right now it's just for beta testing. Open the Edit Documents (or contract or footer) and to the right of the font size hover your mouse around and you'll see a button depress.
