I think many of us use Blue for less major issues and red for summary.
It is a good standard. Expectations are important, and rainbows would get complicated. |

I agree, 'rainbows would get complicated'.
There are some programs out there that do just that. I like HIP's KISS method. |

I do use red for safety and blue for other issues. But I can only get the red to print in the summary. So it would be great to have one more color that would print in a summary. That way you could have a safty/major issue (hole in the roof etc...) summary and "regular" summary for things like no stopper, caulk needed etc...

This kind of goes along with my earlier post on "sorting", but I probably didn't explain it well enough. If you could sort your report by words you have inserted or linked to your individual comments, words like repair/replace, safety, deferred cost, and maintenance, your report could be grouped and printed according to these items. There would be section headings for Repair/Replace, Safety, Deferred Cost, Maintenance, etc. which listed all of your inspection comments which contained or were linked to those topics. The summary would still be short and sweet for primarily the realtors, but the meat of your report might be better organized for your client without requiring a rainbow of colors.

Doug, if you are using the defect comments section which gets printed in the summary as safety limited ,that is not how I use it. The red comments are the ones you wish to bring attention to period. I use them for all matters which may need to be negotiated. The title is list of my concerns , which includes safety, and property conditions that need correction. |

Doug,
It sounds like you want to include the entire report in the summary, just in 2 colors. Am I understanding you correctly? |
