TOPIC: Ride along in San Diego

Good evening everyone.

My name is Neil Nath and I am starting my new life as a HI ( yes, I have a day job ) and I am looking for anyone in San Diego that will take me on a ride along. I've started my Nachi requirements for membership, have most tools and I have purchased the HIP software as well!

I would really appreciate any feedback as well.

You might want to include Riverside and Orange County in your search. Your more likely to find willing guys that aren't direct competitors.

My name is Carlos, and I see both of us are starting our HI business. I'm in the same position as you, I've got a lot of schooling done, most of my tools, HIP software, and I too, am a member of InterNACHI. If its OK with you, maybe we could do the two birds one stone thing. I live in South Riverside, but I'm willing to travel to SD, its not my market. If possible for you, can you travel? I put out the word for most of So Calif, for me to do a ride-along. Since I live north of you, I can do most any county, including LA, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside. If you want, and if I get a ride-along, and its not too far for you, I can see if you can come along, and vice-versa for you, for me to travel to SD. What do you think?

California has a state wide home inspector association.  Recommend you check the association for ongoing CEUs and meeting other inspectors in your area.  A good source to find inspectors who may be willing to grant ride-alongs. 

While InterNACHI provides an SOP, it seems you would have more credibility following a state specific SOP.

Yup, InterNACHI is great for you guys for the online education and benefits and CREIA is great for the live education. I'm actually their webmaster as well and will be giving an 8 hour talk on April 30th. Check out CREIA.org to register. I highly recommend you guys checking out the local chapter meetings. I'll be talking at the one in Norco shortly (Inland Empire chapter). There are also quite a few guys there doing ride alongs. Let me see what I can arrange.
