TOPIC: Site logs & traffic facts

When I had my site with GoDaddy hosting, they had a service called traffic facts. It told you how many visitors and unique visitors, pages visited, time, IP address and location of visitors. I know we have the site logs and I have only given it a cursory viewing. The site log does not tell where the location of the visitor is, and sometimes tells me there is no info available. I didn't really care much before because as long as I am getting calls from people who have seen the site, I am happy. But, now it is more of a curiosity for me. Any one know something that I don't?

We recommend all our users install Google Analytics on your site. There's a tutorial in the website tutorial section of the board. It's far more detailed than any other service, free and ties into Google Adwords which many people use so we never bothered to expand our own site logs. It's much more efficient to use Google's power.

I have the Google Analytics. I don't like it much. I guess I will have to get used to it.

Yeah, I do not have time to read all that stuff on it at this point. I do find Google lacking in support. I do not think their tutorials are very good. Maybe you should write one up and then sell it back to Google!!!
