So is the URL an address to a page within the site? If so there is no page in the URL I posted. I looked at yours and tried to copy what I thought I saw. I used words that were relevant. I my URL correct?

Steve you did post your info, and people will point to your home page's URL (your domain name).

On THEIR site they will use the page name's you gave them to link to you:

OK, I'm sorry I'm so thick. Let's see if I'm understanding.

Site url is the website .com address. The other URL is a page address to a particular page.

So if that is so,

Each page of my site has(or should have) a URL of it's own.
If my website address is homeinspectionsnewyork.com
The URL that I "invented" is not entered anywhere in my site. Where would I check to make sure that the URL I put in my signature matches my home page, or whatever page I want to direct to?

could I do the same thing by adding /page after my .com?

Where would someone enter the words I chose? Google? or is it a code that I use to direct something to my page.

Stephen,

A URL is just a website address. www.homeinspectorpro.com is a website URL, it's also called the domain name. www.homeinspectorpro.com/inspector-forum is also a URL.

What you're listing in your signature the URL you want people to use when they link to you. For example, John Sopher linked to you here: www.oklahomahomeinspector.biz/Comprehens...IFS-Inspections-HINY
Noticed the URL of the page has what you listed in your signature. Having Home,  EIFS and Inspections in the page URL helps boost your website ranking.

ok...

If I change the URL in my signature, do I have to contact everybody and ask them to update the info they have on me?

Whatever URL I use, do I have to go into my website and enter it somewhere? Where?
