John, the best way I have found to add information to a template is to create and add a new document. You click edit documents, then click add new document, you can type it directly or copy and paste. If you copy and paste, you should paste your content to Notepad on your PC first, then copy from Notepad into the program. Notepad strips all of the prior formatting HTML from the content and makes it easier to work with. You can place your new document anywhere in the report that way.

How do you place the documents in the proper location within the report?

While you are in the edit/create documents mode there is a check box and a drop down menu. The check box asks you if you want to include the document as part of the section you are attaching it to as if to use it as an introduction. The drop down menu asks you which report section you want to include the document in. Keep in mind the document is attached BEFORE the section, as an introduction would be attached.

Lastly, remember to click save template after every action you perform. It probably is not required to click save as much as I do, but I have lost enough work by not saving that it is now a habit.

I think I can go on vacation now. You guys are answering questions at 5am my time :)

John, there's also an animated tutorial that covers this at : www.homeinspectorpro.com/Home-Inspector-...s-to-the-Report.html (under the Animated Tutorial section at the top of this site).

Thanks Drew, Karma for you ;)

Its the least I can do to help offset the "I'm gonna trash this website because I can't complete a simple task" e-mails I keep sending you. I am far more comfortable with HIP than I am with web publishing!  :o
