TOPIC: Tennesse state law inspection format

Re: Tennesse state law inspection format 15 years 4 months ago #15686

You can access a sample of a HIP report.

I use Dragon Naturally Speaking voice dictation. I do not use "hunt and pick" for anything other than the state standards and to quote a Code or common narration that fits every application of that type.

I use several report formats for different applications.
This is a combo Thermal Home Inspection.

David,
I looked over your combo report and just wanted to post my approval (not that you need it) ;D
of your integration of IR and regular report. Very nicely done.

Thank you for the kind words my friend!  ;)

My goal was to NOT defer everything or have to time and time again state what was not part of the report/inspection. My State Law is there. It's plain as day. My drop downs answer the required components of the report and I add to it as needed.

It is not the fastest reporting system, but it is what my clients have come to expect (and pay for).

Another point is that if you should ever have to go to court, lawyers like to make stuff up and ask you your interpetition of the law. It's all there in Blue-and-white! No one has to bring up the law or standards because it's in the report and if they are complaining about you they have to present the report to the court. I didn't write thoes laws/standards, so no one can blame me for the wording.

I did have a lawyer say (after I pointed out that "it's in the report", did you read it?) that "that's not how I would have worded it...

Well, you can  :-* my @ss my dear!

Hey David,

Just reviewing sample reports as I'm printing some up to take to Vegas this weekend. Is it okay if I use yours? Did you clean up the template enough to post?
