TOPIC: One comment to appear in multiple sections.

Re: One comment to appear in multiple sections. 12 years 2 months ago #49950

I mean if we have a common statement that needs to be at all areas concerning that conditioin in different catagories, can i enter it once then just click and it will go to bathrooms, faucets and sink, laundry etc areas at the one time entered.

No, but you can copy the comment and paste it into different sections. As the guys are talking about in previous posts in this thread it's extremely rare, and redundant to put the exact same narrative in multiple sections. Most guys will only comment in one section, or if they comment on one issue in multiple sections they change up the narrative to be pertinent to that section.

yep that is what I do,  just trying to keep the cut and pasting down. Each area needs the description in my reports because it is a different area that has affect on different items.

Just trying to take the shortest route between two points

Thanks

I would encourage you to streamline your template as much as possible to help eliminate the need for repeating issues as well. For instance some templates will have a place for the bathroom sink, the sink cabinet, the plumbing drains, the bathroom floor, the subfloor and the floor joists. A leak under the bathroom sink could be addressed in many if not all of those sections. A more streamlined template would include the cabinet in the sink section. It may also combine the separate framing components to one section.

The trap below the sink would be seen as part of the sink and cabinet so no mention of a leak in this area is needed in the plumbing section. A mention could still be made in the framing and interior floors section if you wanted to, but it would still have reduced the number of sections you are clicking through by designing the template simpler.
