TOPIC: Merge Templates

I've been working on some new templates and in my experience, copy and paste is very hinky and does not work for me the majority of the time. The menu controls don't work, the right click has been designated for something else in the program. The ctl V, C & X rarely work for me. It's a real PITA when building new templates to have to re-type everything. If I'm real lucky, I can get Dragon to work and just dictate it all.

I thought we already resolved that you couldn't get CTRL-C & V to work because you were using an external clipboard program? You said that once you turned off your clipboard it worked fine. Did something change?

As is always the case it seems with computers and Windows, it never acts the same way twice. Some days the clipboard works fine, others, not so good.  Dragon is hit and miss as well with HIP. It will work fine for a while and then just stop and throw an error message. I have to close and restart it and it's good again.  Life with technology - always interesting.

I'm in the process of setting up a new Win 7 box right now. Unfortunately, Win 7 is making my job harder since it will not network with the XP machine for file an folder transfer. I had to use the "transfer wizard" to move 21 GB of data on an external USB drive overnight.  Wow, it took 5+ hours to download the data to the drive and only 20 minutes to move it off to the new box.  I guess the dual core 3.2 Mhz processor and the newer system makes a big difference.  It's a cheapie, only $350 delivered from TigerDirect but it works great.

Okay, I'm sure it must be something to do with the clipboard program but keep me apprised. I know the CUT feature does not work properly but I've never heard of anyone else having problems with copy/paste.

Everything is getting reinstalled on a new Windows 7 box. All my time is devoted to getting it up and running so I can replace the old system as soon as possible before it smokes. I'll let you know how HIP plays with Dragon and Clip Mate in Windows 7.

Sounds good. Hopefully the W7 version of Clip Mate is newer and can handle all copy/paste items like Windows can. If so, you'll be good to go.
