TOPIC: Field Notes

Re: Field Notes 14 years 8 months ago #29406

Thanks T.J. and Dominic, that sounds very simple and I must not be doing something right.

Here are the steps that I am taking, after opening the program I am using the evaluation program to see how effective I am going to be using this program. It opens the client information page, then I clicked generate report. It then opens a Save window, I make up a name to save the file as and click save. The next screen that pops up is a Warning window (Red Circle with an X) that is titled acrord32. The text says "Windows cannot find 'acrord32'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

What now? I am lost. This is my first dealings with this program and the demo file on the website is down due to updating for the 2010 version.

I would really appreciate your assistance in helping me get started.
Thanks

That looks like an old windows 95 and 98 issue.
Also is your Adobe running the newest version?

Just hitting generate report should automatically produce a PDF for you.

When it goes to the save part you simply need to make up a name for the file and click OK.

Hi Chuck,

That means you don't have Acrobat installed. Go to www.adobe.com and install it (free). The installer should have notified you of this when you were installing Home Inspector Pro, if it didn't let me know and I'll check out what's going on there.

My OS is XP and already had installed Adobe Pro 8. There was not a notifier during the installing stage of Home Inspector Pro. When I clicked on the download trial button it prompted  me to enter my information, after doing so and submitting it another window opened for me to open or save the program, I chose open. then the next window was to run. Next was the terms and conditions page. Once I accepted these options it opened Home Inspector Pro. I then did the steps above. I just uninstalled the program and reinstalled it the same way and got the same results. I will download the acrobat reader lates version for free but I have doubts since I just did the Pro 8 update a few days ago.

Chuck I have Vista,so my icons may look different, but the file names will be the same in XP.
Please look at this illustration and go to your program files ,find Home Inspector Pro and tell me if this is what you see, after clicking on Home Inspector Pro in your files.

The PDF files get stored in the one labeled Client Reports.

Hi Chuck,

The program requires Acrobat Reader (free). It runs along side the Pro version fine. The reason we did this is that the Pro version takes more than twice as long to load up. Early on we had people complaining about the time it took to generate the report. It turned out it was the people that had Acrobat Pro as they would have to wait 20+ seconds for the program to start. This eliminated that problem!

Thank you all for your very helpful information. The Acrobat Reader download was the fixer. I am now digging around in the reports looking at the different ways to set one up for me that meets Louisiana standards.
Thanks again.
Is there anyone out there that happens to have searched and found this template yet?
