TOPIC: List of Inspector Submitted Templates and Sample Reports

Hi, I was checking out a few Templates ( Doug's looks great) They mostly have all the defects to pick from... but I don't see where you have your "Everything looks good" comments or "typical wear comments"... also where do you add your "Need further evaluation comment"

My question as well.  I've tried the ones available, but although they adequately cover WHAT to inspect (the easy part based on SOP), they are relatively thin on useful comments.  As a result, my commercial inspections take a lot longer to write because I find I am mostly writing new comments.  Yes, I am saving the template as I go, but given that the commercial inspection volume is a lot less, building a useful comment base is taking a while.  In my mind, a commercial template should 'flow' pretty much like whatever residential template you are using, because many of the same topics still apply (structure, roofing, exterior, plumbing, electrical, etc.)just with different / additional comments relative to a commercial setting and a few extra sections that are not applicable to residential.  I may tackle that one myself, if I can find the time.

I have been struggling with the standard crawlspace template provided with HIP. I have moved, copied and condensed but I am still not happy with it. I am in California and have had several inspections with crawlspaces lately. Is there a template that anyone cares to share? Greatly appreciated!

Is there anything in particular you don't like about it? That may help out. Look over all the templates submitted here to see if there's one you really like and then you can copy that section into your template.

HIP was originally designed by following inspectors in HIP so the default template has over a decade of testing on it in crawlspaces.

I was reviewing the forum a few weeks ago and saw an inspection sample (not template) for the InterNachi standards. I cannot seem to find that again.  Also has anyone sent in a template to the residential InterNachi standards?
