TOPIC: NiFast Template

Hello all, I am currently working on a new Nifast template based on their new Standards of Practice. The standard is still in draft form, so I am making the template now and hopefully there won't be too many corrections to make. The new SOP makes the Nifast inspection a good deal more intense, so if you are doing them now charge by the hour. The SOP turns what would be a $125.00 inspection into something a bit more serious.

I finally heard from Nifast today. They are done with the inspection SOP and their lawyers are getting their Insurance company to underwrite it. They will then distribute it to members. They did say I would get the first crack at it, to make an HIP template out of it.

That's good news Drew.
Will you be able to edit the template you had already made or have to start a new one?
I am still trying to convince myself that people will want to pay for this service. I guess we won't know until it is tried. 

I'm sure it'll be similar to the template Drew has already made so he can just edit it.

I think there's a niche of people that will pay for it if advertised properly. For example, it's a good sale for senior homes. Also, NiFAST might be able to get insurance companies to give people who get them a discount to cover the cost. That would definitely make them sell. Imagine if the inspection was free?

Good point Dom..  Might be a sevice provided to elderly people as a free service with a regular Condo Inspection, or something like that. I got my first condo HI on Thursday and I will have to check it out. Referal and I think I took it too cheap for the sake of making a few bucks to pay the bills. Ahh well, live and learn. Never to old for that. They say cavemen live to 100.  ;D

I agree:  the NiFast inspection has been a really tough sell, even to landlords.  Everyone is pinching.  Do we know if a multi-unit NiFast inspection would be similar to a single?  I'm thinking about assisted living buildings or even apartment buildings.
